What our Former Peace Corps say

Megan Che: 1997-1999

I served in the Peace Corps for two years, from 1997-1999, in Cameroon, Africa. I taught math and physics at a secondary school in a village called Batibo. It was the most intense experience I've had. I met my husband, Philip, and some of the best people I could hope to meet anywhere--other volunteers and Cameroonians. Here are a few pictures from my time as a Peace Corps volunteer.

Its amazing what you can stumble across on the internet! Megan, i never met you, but was hoping to get in contact some day. I was the volunteer before you, who left the chalk map of the midwest on your wall! I was also a friend of your husband Philip, one of the friendliest guys i knew during my 2 year stay there. Congratulations to you both!!

I also have very fond memories of my time in Batibo. A great town and a great school, and people definitely know how to make you feel at home! I hope i get a chance to go back for a visit. By the way, i still keep in contact with the Akah family (Akah Andrew and Agnes) and with the Reverend Ntumnyuy. But have unfortunately fallen out of contact with just about everyone else, including Philip. If you get this message please send me an email so i can say hello and catch up.

Take Care,
Scott
